Sunset in the country

"Dance like no one is watching. Sing like no one is listening. Love like you've never been hurt and live like it's heaven on Earth."
--Mark Twain
Okay, I told you all this blog might turn out to be kind of pitiful. I haven't posted forever. So, sorry about that. I don't really have a lot to talk about, it's pretty much just a new picture. This is, well used to be, the view off my front steps when we lived in bluebell. I took it last summer. I wanted to get out and actually do a picture today like I'm supposed to be doing, but I have been sick. Bummer! Anyway, I'll try to start posting more regulary. And again, feel free to leave any comments about my pictures, blog, or anything you want really.

A Quiet Place To Think

"A man is but a product of his thoughts. What he thinks, he becomes."
--Mahatma Ghandi

I like this picture because it feels so peaceful to me. There is something so wonderful in the quiet stillness of the mountains. That's why I love it so much there. I feel like I can walk right into this picture, sit down on that bench, and get lost in thought.

Wild Flowers

This week has been insane! I've had a lot going on which is why I haven't posted anything for a few days. So this is my new picture for the day. I chose it because I'm so excited for spring to be here. I took this last spring so I'm cheating again. I promise one of these days I will actually go out and take a picture to upload on here. Anyway, I hope you're all getting out and enjoying the warm weather!

"If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome."

Life Is So Short

Remove Formatting from selectionThis is a Picture of the St. George Temple. I chose it today for a reason. Last night I lost a family member to cancer. It's a hard thing, really, and my thoughts and prayers are with his wife and kids. But it really has me thinking about how fragile life really is. It's here one minute and gone the next. We tend to live our lives as if we are invincible, like we have all the time in the world. That's not the case. We all get caught up in the rat race of our own lives and often fail to enjoy the little things that life has to offer us. We put off seeing an old friend or telling someone how we feel because we assume there's always time later, but there isn't always. Take time to enjoy the little things in life, catch a sunset and really see the colors. Better yet, make time to catch a sunrise. Just relax and watch it, don't just notice it, really see it. Try to find the beauty in the little things. And above all make time for those who matter, no matter what. Don't let a day go by without telling those you love that you love them. Lose yourself in helping others, and don't pass up opportunities to get out and experience things you don't normally do. Tomorrow may not come. Live your life so that when the day comes that you look back you have as little regrets as possible.

I'm so thankful for the gospel in my life and for the knowledge that families can be together forever. It's so wonderful to know that one day we will be reunited with all our loved ones, and that this time on earth is so short compared to eternity.

"Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever"

A Walk In The Village

Okay, I'm cheating a little bit... I'm supposed to be actually taking a new picture everyday but I didn't get a chance to. So instead this is one I took last year while I was in the Dominican Republic. It was taken in a little artist's village called Altos de Chavon, it was really awesome there! Anyway, this is officially my first picture of the day! enjoy and feel free to tell me what you think!

"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."
